A Runescape Journey

Long Time No See

I’ve been very busy in the past few days, getting settled into my school routine and doing the massive amount of homework I’ve been given. I should have expected the enormous workload – I am taking 4 high school courses this year – and managed my time better. Thankfully, the first two weeks of school have been short, due to holidays.

I haven’t had any time to play Runescape during the past week, but now that I have the next 4 days off, hopefully I’ll be able to get more playing in.

First off, Jagex released the “Grimy Herbs” update while I was off. The update is very useful, even though I do very little with herbs. Still, it’s nice to know that Jagex is thinking up ways to stop scammers. Also released while I was off was the Varrock  Achievement Diary. I haven’t had an opportunity to try it out, but I may do so this weekend. Hopefully my efforts will be rewarded with some nice xp – or that new armor.

Before school started, I also gained a bunch of Hunter levels. The first level I gained was 59 hunter, up 12 from 47 the week before.

I’m planning to take a break and get my farming level up, but once I do that it’ll be back to hunting, which I’m hoping to take all the way to 80.

School Lunches

Sorry I haven’t posted in 8 days, I’ve had a ton of homework and extra swim practices while preparing for the Golds swim meet this week end. But I digress.

School Lunches. A sorry excuse for a full sized meal. What I have noticed, though I rarely by a lunch at school, is that the portions of food that you are given are what most of us students consider average, at best. A small tray of popcorn chicken and some mashed potatoes is not enough to fill a hungry students bottomless pit of a stomach.
I have also noticed that the phrase “more for less” definitely does not apply to school lunches. For example, a school lunch, such as the one given in the previous paragraph, costs $2. One of those big Wendy’s hamburgers costs $.99. You could get a bigger lunch that actually filled you up for less money at a fast food restaurant. Also, the price for a meal (school) has also gone up about $.25 since last year. A school lunch is a measly excuse for a way to earn the school a *large* profit without spending a massive amount of money.
