73 Woodcutting, 50 Fletching
Wow, 60k+ experience off willows in 1 day. That’s a record for me.

Got this off the logs.

About and Goals
Although I am posting this here, I will also create a separate page about it as well.
So, here are my Runescape stats, armor, and goals as of 7/29/07.
My Stats:

My Character:

A Ton of Skills; Going Runescape
First, a bit of news. I have decided to go Runescape with this blog and make it into a Runescape blog. Basically, I will post primarily about Runescape.
Anyway, I have obtained a huge amount of levels in the past few days. The first is level 29 Runecrafting:

The second is level 48 fletching, though I only have a pic of level 45:

The next level is 46 crafting:

Well, that’s it for levels. I also have some pics from the new classroom random event, which actually gives a good reward.

The last and most exciting part was the completion of my Level 1 clue scroll, which also happened to be my first.

From Left: 9 Salmon, Steel Pickaxe, Green ele’ (elegant) legs, 40 Body runes
I was able to sell the legs for 225k, which isn’t bad. Now I need 54k to reach 1m.

Runescape – King’s Ransom and Barrows Lore
There were several updates to Runescape today, though I have only been able to ‘experience’ one of them.
King’s Ransom
The first and most important update is the new quest, King’s Ransom, available to members who meet the requirements.
Summary
“Intrigue, murder and devious plots! Things are afoot once again at the Sinclair Mansion. The family has vanished without a trace. None of their neighbours are very sorry to see them go, but suspicions are aroused when King Arthur and his knights disappear as well…Your help is needed once again to unravel the Sinclair family’s plots. Those of you who have solved the Murder Mystery will be called upon to put your Defence skill to the test: as you act as the defence attorney and disprove the case you built up against them in the first place. All is not as it seems, though, and more people are involved in the kidnapping of King Arthur than is at first apparent.
If you’re successful, you’ll be invited to train with the Knights of the Round Table. If you can keep up with them, you’ll be well rewarded…
Will you be able to deliver a King’s Ransom?”
Requirements
Completion of…
Black Knights’ Fortress
Merlin’s Crystal
Holy Grail
Murder Mystery
One Small Favour
Level 45 Magic
Level 65 Defence
Unfortunately, I still need 6 magic levels and 11 defense levels, but when (if) I get them, this looks like an excellent quest.
EDIT: According to Drakeswarm…
“This quest was a lot longer than I made it out to be….I didn’t care much for the story, as the end had nothing to do with the beginning…
I found the tumbler puzzle rather confusing for a runescape puzzle….There was no instructions on how to work it, and the fact that it reset itself if you failed to many times was annoying.
Also, the part with grail was tedious too…..The riddle said small packages would lead to danger, and yet the answer was in a small one…
On the [plus side], getting 33k def exp was awesome, and the extra 20k for all combat stats after the knight wave was well worth the time.” – Official Thread (pg 27, post 3)
Lore and Histories: Barrows
The second update is the discovery of a manuscript that contains the story The Fall of Six.
“This month, Reldo has been sent a tattered manuscript by some Strange Old Man who lives in Morytania. This manuscript sheds new light on the area known as the Barrows, and the legend that surrounds its existence.
Reldo has transcribed this tale, entitled The Fall of Six, into the Lores and Histories section of the website for you all to have a read.”
In Other News…
Seers’ Village has undergone a graphical update, which, unfortunately, I have not seen yet. With the Party Room gone, I can just imagine that the changes were quite impressive.
Yes, you heard me, the Party House has been moved from Seers’ Village to the North-East of Falador. This means that free players can now enjoy all the fun the Party House has too offer!
The high scores have been updated with a new feature that allows you to link to a single stat, rather than trying to link to all the stats. Since my explanation was thoroughly insufficient, you can read about it, here.
The final update allows the ninja implings to drop certed dragonhides instead of the uncerted kind.
Post Apocalyptic ‘Gangs’ by legohaulic
Legohaulic has built some very nice post-apoc gangs to inhabit the barren, deserted landscape.

I liked these guys mouth pieces, they’re cool.
The Guy on the far left is wearing troll pants (from the Harry Potter troll set).
This one is really cool. The leader looks awesome. I also like how the grunts’ helmets look.
Shellshock by Adrian Florea
Adrian Florea has posted an awesome evil transformer, Shellshock, which actually transforms.
After almost two months I’ve finally managed to finish this damned thing. The weather here is completely awefull, the heat makes anything I touch instantly stick to me. Anyway, I wanted to build a transformer for a very long time, i’ve had numerous failed attempts (helicopters, hot-rods, helicopters), every time I searchd for a unique alternate model, this made it even more of a challenge, trying to stay true to the original American M3 Halftrack from WWII. This model is a definition of my building style, it’s extremely unstable because I tried to score a high cool-factor, and manage a complex transformation with numerous msmall moving parts. The robot mode is familiar to the busy looking transformers from the movie, it has a slight resemblance to Brawn and Blackout.
Pest Control
Pest Control (PC) is a mini game that is part of the massive online multiplayer game, Runescape. Pest Control offers players a new and, somewhat, faster way of training combat skills such as attack and defense. This is done via ‘commendation’ points, which can be cashed in to purchase various items and/or experience points in a chosen combat skill.
Pest Control is a fairly simple game, but first, make sure you are playing on a crowded world; if not, then it will be nearly impossible for lower level players and players new to the game. The mini game involves 25 players fighting against ‘Pests’ to protect and NPC (non playable character) called the Void Knight and to gain control of the island. This can be achieved several ways.

The first, and most difficult and lengthy option is to defend the Void Knight. This is very difficult as the Void Knight can only be healed through the destruction of 1 of 4 portals, which I will discuss later. This method is very long, since you must defend the Knight for 20 minutes, and very difficult, since you will be constantly running after monsters.
The second option, though difficult, is far less challenging and time consuming than the first, assuming that you have a good attack level and strength level. For this method, you must destroy all 4 portals in 4 different corners of the island. In the beginning of the game, each portal is protected by a shield. The first shield will fall after 15 seconds, and the next will fall 30 seconds after, until every portal has lost its shield. Now the portals can be attacked! As you attack the portal, you will notice that, unless you have a high attack level, most of your attacks will ’splash’ as zeros; this is due to the portals high defense. Not only do they have high defense, but the portals also have a giant amount of hitpoints – 250 each. This makes them extremely difficult to kill if you rarely hit 15+. If you are playing in a crowded world, this won’t mean much, since you will have a large number of team mates to help you take out the portal.
If you and your team mates are successful, you will be awarded commendation points depending upon which boat you took from the Void Knight Outpost. You can then cash these points in for experience or some great items.

A new message has appeared on the top of the brickshelf.com home page:
Notice: Brickshelf will not be shutting down!
We will be offering “featured” accounts for $5/month shortly.
We have received hundreds of supportive emails in the past few days including many who said they would like to contribute financially but did not know how. This has had us rethink the practicality of charging for enhanced features. We plan to do this without reducing current functionality for free users. Thank you for your enormous show of support. IMPORTANT: do NOT try to download the entire site, it causes major problems, slows things down for normal users and you will be permanently blocked.
Speedo Tip
This week’s Speedo Tip of the Week comes from David Swensen, a certified strength and conditioning specialist and assistant coach for the YMCA of the North Shore in Beverly, Mass. Swensen offers some advice on an in-season, dry-land program for a distance swimmer.
Swensen’s Tip:
For a distance swimmer, an in-season resistance exercise program should focus on muscular endurance. This involves 1-2 sessions per week (depending on the competition schedule), executing two to three sets of 15 to 20 repetitions of exercises performed as a circuit, with 20-30 seconds rest in between each set. He should be sure to include core strengthening exercises in his routine. Using an exercise ball is a good way to train the core stabilizing muscles to work effectively.
Here is a sample exercise routine: include oblique crunches, planks, reverse flies, wall squats and hip extensions with opposite shoulder flexion exercises, all performed on a ball; then add side bridges, lat pull downs, triceps extensions, seated rows and lateral shoulder raises. This is just one example. Many other types of exercise and combinations are possible. Rotator cuff exercises performed on a more frequent basis of three to five times per week would help him go the distance with a lower risk of injury.
